Dunedin. A city with great taste. There is an abundance top quality food grown, harvested and served here. Dunedin's history in producing and pouring brown brews is well known. However, many of the infamous student bars seem to be dying a slow and painful death as customer needs change and as the University attempts to stamp out Otago's 'drinking culture'. This has made way for more sophisticated establishments to lead the way. In recent years several bars have worked hard to build Dunedin's reputation for serving cocktails. Our buddy Arjun and his coffee liqueur Quick Brown Fox is a key ingredient in some of our favourite cocktails on offer in Dunedin.
Arjun is the creator behind Quick Brown Fox. A hand crafted coffee liqueur made form organic coffee that leaves a clever hint of cinnamon on your tongue. Made in Dunedin, New Zealand to be the perfect evening companion. We asked Arjun for the recipe for his delicious espresso martini; the Quick Brown Fox signature cocktail.
Here a twist on the classic espresso martini, QBF adds depth to the coffee flavour and adds a more natural and the cinnamon adds a complex form of sweetness.
Rest ice in a martini glass to cool.
In a shaker add:
25ml fresh espresso, chill as soon as it is espressed by sitting in a cup of cold water or ice
30ml Quick Brown Fox
30ml of white rum
Empty the martini glass of ice and dry clean. Shake hard for 30 seconds in long movements then double strain into the martini glass. Sit for 1 minute to let the froth settle. Garnish with three fresh coffee beans. Perfectly matched with darked chocolate.
