Late last month the eagerly awaited 'Darkness of Noon' book was released. The book is a collaboration of two Kiwi creatives (both are currently are living in Australia) at the top of their game. We've been big fans of illustratorKelly Thompson'sportraits for sometime now, likewise Derek Hendersonbeautiful photographs have been a great source of inspiration for us. To see they have collaborated is pretty exciting! The result of a year long collaboration has taken the form of this amazing coffee table book. The book features renowned Kiwi now international modelZippora Sevenand is masterfully designed byFabio Ongarato.
The work of Thompson and Henderson seamlessly combine throughout the book. A key idea communicated throughout the series of images is the notion of being in touch with nature, the beautiful nude monographs of Seven express a sense of calm, the subject appears at ease in her own company in meadowy setting. Thompson's sparse illustrations compliment Henderson's photographs, however do not attempt to replicate his photographs, instead the illustrations are successfully pared back to express Seven's ethereal beauty.
